Engagement Manager

As dxw cyber's first engagement manager, you’ll be closely involved as we establish our process, principles and approach for carrying out effective security testing, engineering and consultancy. You’ll support the testing teams by managing our relationships with clients, keeping them involved and informed while giving the test team the space they need to work. You’ll ensure that the company’s processes are well designed and properly followed, so that our work remains manageable, profitable, ethical and legal.

You’ll spend most of your time managing the testing team's work, helping to produce written deliverables and participating in sales work by contributing to proposals and meeting prospective clients. You’ll also help to to improve dxw cyber’s tools, process and approach, and spend time on your own professional development.

Appointment is subject to a successful background check. Applicants must be willing to undergo government clearance to SC if they are successful.

You will be:

  • A project, delivery, account or technical manager with at least 2 years experience, ideally including some exposure to security work
  • An excellent communicator, with a high standard of spoken and written English and experience of report-writing and proofreading
  • An able and empathetic manager of people
  • Able to discuss and describe technology in a way that’s easy for others to understand
  • Organised, able prioritise multiple competing demands and manage your time effectively
  • Enjoy being part of a growing company with changing priorities

Technical writer

The quality of our penetration tests is only as good as the quality of our writing. For us to succeed, our reports must effectively capture and communicate the quality of our technical work.

As a technical writer at dxw cyber, you’ll support our work by taking ownership of the production of our penetration testing reports and other written deliverables. In collaboration with the technical team, you’ll take the lead in writing up our findings, ensuring that they are communicated accurately and clearly. You'll also contribute to the creation of guidance, white papers, blog posts and other written materials.

You’ll spend most of your time discussing our findings with the team and writing them up. You’ll also help to to improve dxw cyber’s process and approach, ensuring that the technical work we do effectively prepares us to produce high-quality written deliverables.

This is a part-time position, working two days per week on Thursday and Friday. Due to our cycle of work, we are unable to be flexibile on this working pattern.

You will be:

  • An experienced technical writer, able to create both:
    • Detailed, usable technical content about our test findings, intended to be read by developers, engineers and other implementers
    • Impactful and clear non-technical content about our findings and their impact, intended to be read by non-technical staff and stakeholders (such as board members and executives)
  • An excellent communicator, with a high standard of spoken as well as written English and experience of report-writing and proofreading
  • Familiar with basic technical and security concepts and able to describe them in ways that are easy for others to understand
  • Extremely well organised and able to manage your time effectively
